Chimney Liner Installation & Replacement in New Jersey

Chimney Liners

Inside Your Chimney

AM Chimney Sweep installs and repairs chimney liners for homeowners throughout New Jersey.

A damaged liner can let heat, smoke, and creosote reach the surrounding masonry. We inspect, repair, or replace liners so your chimney vents safely.

Why Chimney Liners Matter

  • Protect the surrounding masonry from heat and combustion byproducts
  • Prevent smoke and carbon monoxide from entering your home
  • Stop water and moisture damage from a cracked or deteriorated liner
  • Keep the chimney venting safely and meeting current code requirements
  • Reduce fire risk from an unlined or deteriorated flue
  • Extend the lifespan of your chimney system
Fire Safety Warning:  A cracked, corroded, or missing liner lets heat and combustion gases reach nearby wood framing, increasing fire risk — most liner damage isn't visible without an inspection.
Tip for Homeowners:
If you notice white staining on the outside masonry, cracked or missing flue tiles, or a smoky smell, your liner may need repair or replacement.

Outstanding service from Adam in Montclair NJ! Our chimney crown had visible hairline cracks that were going to get ruined this winter. Adam completely resurfaced and weatherproofed the crown and installed a sturdy new chimney cap. Fireplace is 100% prepped for winter. Very clean and highly recommended!

Our Chimney Liner Process

  1. Inspect the existing liner and flue with a camera
  2. Measure the flue and appliance to size the new liner
  3. Remove the damaged or outdated liner
  4. Install the new liner sized for your heating appliance
  5. Seal and insulate the liner as needed
  6. Reinstall the chimney cap and verify proper draft
  7. Final safety check and report
 Tip:
A properly sized liner keeps your chimney venting safely and helps it meet current code. See completed chimney projects in Our Work. Local guides: Bloomfield, Maplewood, Hoboken, and West Milford, or see all North Jersey towns.

Signs You Need a New Chimney Liner

  • White or gray staining on the outside masonry (efflorescence)
  • Rusted, cracked, or missing flue tiles
  • Chunks of tile debris in the fireplace or firebox
  • Smoke smell or backdrafting when the fireplace is in use
  • Visible gaps, cracks, or crumbling inside the flue
  • Prior chimney fire history or scorch marks near the flue
Safety Note: A deteriorated liner can let carbon monoxide and heat escape where they shouldn't. If you suspect liner damage, stop using the fireplace and schedule an inspection.
